Presidents Day [Campus Closed]
Unofficially celebrated since 1800 to commemorate President Washington’s Feb 22 birthday. After completion of the Washington Monument in 1885, the day became a federally observed holiday. In the 1970s, Every third Monday of February became “President’s Day” to celebrate all past and present U.S. presidents, partly due to the close proximity to Lincoln’s February 12th birthday.
